Position & Accessibility Statement

Living & Learning Aligned is an educational and translational framework focused on helping parents, professionals, and support providers approach everyday life with greater awareness, intention, and participation in mind.

This work centers on helping autistic individuals participate meaningfully in everyday life — and helping adults intentionally support that participation across home, school, community, and lifespan settings.

Living & Learning Aligned explores how principles of learning, behavior, and development unfold within real-life routines, relationships, environments, and shared experiences. It offers reflective tools, practical guidance, and participation-centered thinking for everyday life.

This work is educational in nature. It is not therapy, individualized treatment, or clinical consultation, and it does not replace professional services, assessment, or individualized care.

Translational Science

Living & Learning Aligned extends evidence-based principles of learning, behavior, and implementation into everyday family and community contexts.

The focus is not only on skill development, but on how skills become meaningful, useful, familiar, and connected to participation within real life.

This work is intended to complement — not replace — the role of behavior analysts, educators, therapists, DSPs, and other instructional professionals. It encourages thoughtful collaboration between families and professionals so that instruction, support, and everyday life experiences become more aligned over time.

Accessibility & Participation

Living & Learning Aligned is intentionally designed to support accessibility through:

  • clear and readable language

  • practical examples grounded in everyday life

  • conceptual accessibility for both parents and professionals

  • a participation-centered perspective rooted in real-world experiences

The goal is to make complex ideas more understandable, usable, and connected to daily life while respecting the diverse experiences, abilities, values, and support needs of individuals and families.

Everyday life is already shaping participation, learning, and development.

This work encourages approaching those moments with greater awareness, intention, and alignment over time.
